The Primate's Palace is an exquisite and prestigious building, located in the very center of Warsaw's Old Town. The construction of the palace began at the end of the 16th century by the initiative of the bishop of Płock Wojciech Baranowski. Destroyed in the years of the Swedish invasion 1655-1660. Józef Fontana was employed to rebuild it. Once again devastated by the Saxons, Wallachians and Cossacks in 1704. It was rebuilt by Primate Stanisław Szembek. In the years 1777-1783 there was a general reconstruction of the palace. The architect responsible for her was Efraim Szreger, construction was completed by Michał Jerzy Poniatowski in the classical style. In the 18th century it was the seat of, among others, the Warsaw Prussian Camera Chamber, the Warsaw Police Board, the Government War Commission. During the interwar period, the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Reforms was here. For many years he was also a branch of the registry office. The building is currently intended for the organization of various types of events: conferences, banquets and special events. Historic interiors and a variety of banquet rooms give a unique atmosphere to any undertaking.
