Address: ul. Twarda 6 , 00-171 Warszawa

The only active pre-war synagogue in Warsaw that survived World War II, located at 6 Twarda Street. It is the main synagogue of the Jewish Community in Warsaw and the synagogue in which the Chief Rabbi of Poland Michael Schudrich operates. Services are held every day. On every holiday, during which the iskor is said, prayers resound all the time - according to the wishes of the founders - remembering the dead Rywka and Zalman Nożyk. The brick synagogue building was erected on a rectangular plan with a projection housing the main entrance, in the Neo-Roman style with numerous Byzantine, Neo-Renaissance and Moorish elements. Above it are two boards of the Decalogue. The interior is divided into three naves. Above the naves and the vestibule there are galleries for women, to which separate staircases with separate entrances lead. The Nożyk Synagogue is not only a place of religious practice, but also a thriving center of Jewish culture, which hosts numerous exhibitions, concerts, openings and meetings.
