Address: ul. Skazańców , 01-532 Warszawa

The eastern gate belonging to the Warsaw Citadel complex, built in the years 1833–1835 as the Ivan Gate, serving as a cemetery-mausoleum of political prisoners executed in the Congress Kingdom. The gate is protected by a foregate, which could be used as an artillery terrace during an emergency. In addition, access to it was defended by the Carnot wall, connected to the eastern caponier. The whole provided a connection between the Citadel and the Vistula River, where, if necessary, skating and pontoon bridges could be moored, connecting with Prague Fort Śliwicki. In 1932, thanks to the efforts of the Warsaw Circle of the Former Political Prisoners Association, the area around the gate was tidied up, and on November 1, 1933 the cemetery-mausoleum of the patriots lost here was solemnly opened. 152 crosses and 7 matzevot were placed, and 6 marble plaques with the names of the victims were hung on the walls of the gate.
