The walking pier on the Vistula River in Płock, which is a 357.8 m long pedestrian bridge at the end of which there is a restaurant, is located opposite the Tumski Hill located just like the object itself on the right side of the Vistula. The width of the walking pier pier is 5.3 m, and at the end of the facility in a nearby place, which is the restaurant building, this width increases to 15.3 m. The facility was constructed in accordance with the development plan of the Płock Vistula Quay for tourist and recreational purposes. It is also one of the elements of the emerging yacht port - a marina for about 100 yachts. The pier connects to the shore at its eastern end, closing the swimming pool of the yacht port and runs in an arch westwards, where at the other end of the facility there is the entrance to the port. At the western end of the pier there is a restaurant built on a circular plan with a usable area of approx. 173 m². The entrance to the pier, located in the place where the object connects to the shore is located opposite the stairs named after. Władysław Broniewski leading from the monument to Władysław Broniewski at ul. Tadeusz Kościuszko down the slope of the Vistula embankment and overlooking the right bank boulevard on the Vistula. The characteristic feature that distinguishes the Płock pier is that its construction was made parallel to the river bank line, being the only facility of this type in Poland. This location of the object protects it against dangerous ice phenomena occurring on the river and at the same time allows free observation from the bridge towards the north of the Płock embankment view along with the historic, oldest buildings of the city - the cathedral and castle on the Tumski Hill, as well as a modern amphitheater built on the slope of the Vistula embankment. From the south side of the pier, there is a view of the 600-meter wide Vistula and the left-bank district of Płock - Radziwie along with the river port. In the east direction is visible. Legionów Marshal Józef Piłsudski across the Vistula, built in 1938, which is illuminated at night. On the west side you can observe the sunsets over the water surface, about 1 km wide Vistula, which is part of the Włocławskie Lake in this area. The pier is ideal for romantic walks, it is also a very popular place among newlyweds doing photo sessions. It delights many tourists, why it's hard to be surprised :)
