The Koziniecki Landscape Park was created in 1983 for the preservation and protection of the local natural and geographical landscape as well as significant natural areas of the Kozienice Primeval Forest with rich herbaceous vegetation and interesting terrain. After a significant expansion in 2001, the Park covers a total of 26,233.83 ha of the Forest with the most valuable natural stands. In order to protect it against distortion and to create conditions for the development of tourism and recreation around the Park, a buffer zone of 36009.62 ha was created, which consists of forest and field areas.
